What is Course Mapping?

Non-Master Courses are those from students' historical records that are not part of the district's current offerings. Examples include:

  • Courses transferred from other districts

  • Courses no longer offered

  • Special course codes used for scheduling that do not represent actual courses offered by your district

These courses can substitute for district offerings and count towards graduation if mapped in the Course Mapping section of the Course Plan Configuration.

*Note: Unmapped non-master courses will appear as electives if enabled in the graduation plan; otherwise, they will not be shown.

Map a Course

  1. Click Admin in the side navigation bar, select Course Plan Configuration, then click the Course Mapping tab.

  2. Click an unmapped course from the Non-Master Course list, confirm the course name and ID appear as a header on the right side of the screen.

  3. Search for the course that you wish to map, then click the course row. The non-master course will be automatically mapped. This will transfer the non-master course to the Mapped section, removing it from the Unmapped list.

Unmap a Course

  1. From the Course Mapping tab, check the Show Mapped Courses box to see all courses already mapped.

  2. Search for the course you would like to unmap, select the course, then confirm that the course name and ID appear on the right side header. , then click the X icon next to the course to unmap it. Once removed, the non-master course will move back under the Unmapped list of courses.

  3. Click the X icon next to the course to unmap it. Once removed, the non-master course will move back under the Unmapped list of courses.

How to Add a Non-Master Course to Course Offerings

If a course is in the Non-Master Course list that should be in Course Offerings, you can create a master course from any non-master course.

Select the course and click the Create Master Course button at the bottom of the page.

‼️ Important

In most cases, if you need to add a course to your course offerings, this should be done in your SIS, and then updated in SchooLinks by reloading the course master file.
