Guardian: Access your Account

This article provides an overview of the two ways Guardians can create a SchooLinks account.

Access Your Account

There are two ways districts can provide guardians with SchooLinks access. Reach out to your student's counselor or district admin to find out which of the following methods should be followed:

Synced Guardian Emails

If your district synced your guardian email with SchooLinks, you can access your guardian account by going to app.schoolinks.com or clicking the button below:

  • If you have a Google, Microsoft, or LinkedIn email on file with the district, click Log in with Google, Log in with Microsoft, or Log in with LinkedIn on the right-hand side of the login page, then select your connected mail account.

  • If you do not have a Google, Microsoft, or LinkedIn email on file with the district, click Forgot password below the login button. Enter the email on file with the district and click Reset password.

  • Then enter the email on file with the district, then click Reset password.

  • An email will be sent to create a SchooLinks password. Follow the instructions to create your password, then return to the login page and log in via email and password.

Student Claim Codes

To create a Guardian account using a Claim Code, you will need either:

  • Your student's 6-digit alphanumeric claim code (often shared by the counselor)

  • Your student's unique claim code link that contains a 6-digit alphanumeric code at the end. (Learn how your student can access this link here)

Claim Code

To create an account using a Claim Code:

  1. Go to app.schoolinks.com/onboarding/guardian or click the button below:

  2. Enter the claim code, select your relationship to the student, and click Add.

  3. To claim more than one student, click + Add additional student.

  4. Once all students have been added, choose your account signup method.

Unique Claim Code Link

To create your account using the unique claim code link:

  1. Click the unique link provided, which will auto-populate your unique claim code in the Claim code field.

  2. Select your relationship to the student and click Add.

Expand the dropdown below to learn how guardians can access and log in to their SchooLinks accounts on a mobile device.

Access Your Account From a Mobile Device

Since SchooLinks is a web app, you can access it from any modern browser on a desktop or a mobile device by going to app.schoolinks.com.

  • Synced Guardian Emails: If your district synced your guardian email with SchooLinks, follow the "Synced Guardian Emails" instructions above from your mobile device browser.

  • Student Claim Codes: To access your guardian account using a student claim code on a mobile device, you will need either:

    • Your student's 6-digit alphanumeric claim code (often shared by the counselor)

    • Your student's unique claim code link that contains a 6-digit alphanumeric code at the end. (Learn how your student can access this link here)

Claim Code

Once you have the student claim code, continue with the following steps:

  1. From the SchooLinks login page, click Sign up at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Enter the claim code, select your relationship to the student, and click Add.

  4. To claim more than one student, click + Add additional student. Once all students have been added, choose your account signup method.

Unique Claim Code Link

To create your account using the unique claim code link:

  1. Click the unique link provided, which will auto-populate your unique claim code in the Claim code field.

  2. Select your relationship to the student and click Add.

‼️ Important Message for Staff

If you are a guardian with a SchooLinks Staff account and your guardian account is linked to your district-issued email, your district may allow you to access your Guardian account directly from your staff account dashboard.

To switch between your staff and guardian accounts, click the Selected Mode drop-down on your Staff Dashboard.

Log in to Your Account

Once you claim your account, you can log back in at any time by following the steps below:

  1. Go to app.schoolinks.com

  2. Choose the login method you used to claim your account

    1. Email & Password

    2. Log in with LinkedIn

    3. Log in with Google

    4. Log in with Microsoft
