What is understanding statuses?

You're able to track the status of your application materials on SchooLinks after you setup applications. To learn how to setup an application for a college, go to Setting Up an Application & Its Requirements

For non-Common App schools, you'll be able to see when your letters of recommendation and transcripts have been uploaded and when they have been sent to a school.

For Common App schools, uploading and sending of those documents will be directly through the Common App portal. To learn how to setup applications for Common App schools, go to Tracking Common App Colleges.

For both non-Common App and Common App schools, you can indicate when you've completed the necessary requirements.

1. Accessing Application Manager

To access Application Manager, hover over the School icon.

Then click Application Manager.

2. Track Student Requirements

After you setup an application, you can track the requirements for the school on SchooLinks. Student Requirements are the requirements that you personally have to submit for that school.

To see the Student Requirements for a specific school, click Student Reqs on a school's application tracking card.

Once you've completed a requirement, like submitting your application online, click the box next to that requirement to show that you've completed it.

Then the box will have a green checkmark and the circle next to that requirement will turn green.

If you haven't finished a requirement, the circle next to that requirement will be red.

You want all the requirements to have a green circle next to them before the application due date.

For non-Common App schools that require letters or recommendation, you'll have to setup your letter of rec request.

Click Setup next to the Letter of Recommendation requirement.

To learn how to request a letter of recommendation, go to Requesting a Letter of Recommendation.

3. Track High School Requirements

High School Requirements are the requirements that your counselor will submit to the school on your behalf, like transcripts and letters of recommendation.

To see the status of your High School Requirements, click HS Reqs on a school's application tracking card.

Files that have been uploaded, but not sent will have a gray circle next to them.

Files that have not been uploaded will have a red circle next to them.

Files that have been uploaded and sent will have a green circle next to them.

You want all your HS requirements to have a green circle next to them before the application due date.

4. Track Common App Requirements

For Common App schools, the Student Requirements section will have Common App specific requirements.

After you've completed them on Common App, come back to SchooLinks and mark them as complete so you and your counselor can keep track of your application progress.

For High School Requirements, your counselor will submit the documents through Common App. Then they will mark them as complete on SchooLinks, so you can see when your materials have been sent.
