How to compare SAT and ACT test scores as a student

Updated 1 month ago by Sarah Welbes

  • In this article, we will show students how to compare their SAT & ACT Test Scores to favorited colleges and colleges on their Final List.
Some colleges require certain SAT or ACT test scores in order to be admitted. On SchooLinks, students are able to compare reported test scores and goal test scores to the 25th and 75th percentile scores of accepted students at the colleges they're interested in.

1. Accessing Test Scores

From the dashboard, hover over the home icon and click Test Scores.

2. Compare Test Scores

There are two ways for students to compare their test scores on the Test Scores page:

  1. SAT & ACT Score Ranges: Here students can see how many of their test scores actually fall within the range of favorited colleges and colleges on their Final List.
  1. SAT and ACT Test Score Sections: here students are able to compare reported test scores to favorite colleges and colleges on their Final List.
  • Green = score is in the top 25% of scores by students who were accepted to this school.
  • Blue = score is in the middle 50% of scores by students who were accepted to this school
  • Red = score is in the bottom 25% of scores by students who were accepted to this school.
  • Students can also compare Goal Scores to favorited and final list colleges on the SAT and ACT Test Scores sections (The graph colors have the same meaning).

If you ever forget how you are supposed to interpret the graph colors, click the question mark on either the SAT or ACT Test Scores Sections.
