What is setting up an application and its requirements?

You can track your college applications and all the requirements on SchooLinks. In order to start tracking, you need to setup the application and add all the requirements

Requirements are things like test scores and letters of recommendation that you have to send to a college separate from your application.

If you're setting up an application for a school you'll be applying to via the Common App, the setup process it a little different. To learn how to setup applications for Common App schools, go to Tracking Common App Colleges.

NOTE: You must add colleges to your Final List for them to be on your application list. To learn more about adding colleges to you Final List, go to Building the Final List.

1. Accessing Application Manager

To setup your applications, hover over the School icon and click Application Manager

2. Setting Up the Application

Find the college you added and click the blue Track Application button.

Select your interest level.

Then click the green Next button.

Select the application type.

Verified options will have the deadline filled in.

For Unverified options you'll have to find the application deadline on the college's website and enter it.

Then click the green Next button.

If you selected a Verified Option, the deadline will already be filled in for you. You should still double check on the college's website that the deadline is correct.

If the pre-filled deadline is not correct, contact your counselor and they can update it for you.

If the deadline is not filled in, click to select the deadline from the calendar.

Then click the green Next button.

Select the application method.

Verified options will have requirements filled in.

For Unverified options you'll have to find the application requirements on the college's website and enter them.

Then click the green Next button.

Type in the application fee.

Then click the green Next button.

Select whether you will use an application fee waiver.

Then click the green Next button.

Select if you plan on applying for financial aid. If so, type the materials and documents required at that college.

Then click the green Next button.

If you selected a Verified application type, you will see pre-filled application requirements.

If not, select the application requirements. Then type the exact requirements.

Then click the Save Application button.

NOTE: If the college you're applying to does not accept electronic transcripts, you will need to type in the mailing address for your counselor to mail your transcript to.

Now you'll be able to track your application requirements for that school and your counselor will be able to prepare application materials.
